On Wood
|
| We use primarily Black Cherry, noted for it's satiny feel and salmon patina. Cherry darkens over the first few months of exposure to light and air. Oak is occasionaly used, which is less photosensitive, but will acquire a golden glow over time. Oak is tougher than cherry, and gains a coarser surface texture. |
All woods move directionally across the grain with the change of seasons.
It is normal to have panels expand and contract at different rates.
Small spaces between drawers, doors and cases are provided to allow for this movement.
